¡Hola! My name is Alicia Frost (a.k.a. "señorita Frost") and I am thrilled to be joining the Spanish teaching staff here at CoCoSPA. I have been committed to learning for as long as I can remember, and all fields of study. It is a natural fit to be in a career where I can be surrounded fulltime by both teaching and learning every day. My college studies supported my diverse interests while providing insightful projects and meaningful career skills. I have had five years of professional teacher training at two different universities (4 years of undergraduate at the University of Idaho, where I graduated Cum Laude, and 1 year of post-graduate at Sonoma State University). My training included student-teaching at two middle schools and two high schools, including a 1-to-1 technology school. For two years between credentialing programs, I was an instructional assistant in the Special Education Department at Monte Vista High School. My Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish required a term of study abroad, where I treasured exploring Spain’s history, many cities, people and culture, and enjoying the thrill of attending the Pamplona Bull Run and Festival of St Fermin that occurs every July.
I have been infected by a love for the live performing arts since my earliest childhood. Growing up, my family had season tickets to Pleasanton Playhouse (now Tri-Valley Repertoire), where we enjoyed 4 Broadway musical productions every year until I moved off to college. Throughout all four years of high school, I was both an actress and a techie, during which I stage managed the 30-actor and 5-director musical my senior year. During my college years I followed my twin sister’s lead and joined the university marching band as a color guard performer where I loved the performance excitement of weekly pagentry on the football field.
I still love to attend performances at the San Francisco Ballet, the San Francisco Symphony, SHNSF, and so many other local performing arts programs available throughout our vibrant San Francisco Bay Area. I look forward to supporting CocoSPA students in their school productions and performances this year!
