Meghan Michelle McGovern is an internationally acclaimed opera singer and performer. She holds a Master of Music degree in opera performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. In 2018 she was featured as a soloist at the National Geographic Symphony Orchestra’s premiere of “Symphony for Our World” at Davies Hall in SF and will be performing on their tour at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood this October and again in December.
In 2014 Meghan made her European debut in Italy, singing the title role of “Bystrouska" in Janacek’s opera, “The Cunning Little Vixen” at the Trentino Music Festival. Favorite roles include: Pamina (Die Zauberflote), Desdemona (Otello) and Madama Cortese (IL Viaggo A Reims).
Meghan has been teaching for 15 years and enjoys exercising her directorial and conducting skills for musical theatre productions, workshops and masterclasses. Recently she directed productions of Once on this Island, High School Musical, Seussical and Singing in the Rain.
In 2016 was given a National Youth Arts Award for “Best Music Direction” for the production of Mary Poppins at Bancroft Musical Theatre in San Leandro. Currently she serves as the Educational Committee Director and Program Co-Founder for Festival Opera’s Opera Institute program located in Walnut Creek.
