Marcus Maxwell is a bay area native and a 2001 graduate of
Pinole Valley High School (“PVHS”) in Pinole, California. While at PVHS, he played football, basketball, and baseball and participated in the strength and conditioning programs for these respective sports. The Notoriety he received at PVHS, along with the spirit of ethics developed while there, formed the basis for the person and mentor he is today.
After graduating from PVHS, he was awarded an athletic scholarship to play football at the University of Oregon. In 2005, as a senior while enrolled at Oregon, he was honored with the opportunity to compete for a job as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers as the 223rd athlete chosen in the NFL Draft. He humbly accepted the challenge and played six years in the NFL and eight years professionally.
Since leaving the NFL in 2012 he decided to pursue two of his great passions, which are sports training and mentoring. Both of these outlets have allowed him to work with thousands of athletes through sports or mentoring. I look forward to bringing my experience and passion COCOSPA and help make a difference in the school and the community.
