I am happy you are here!

Nayia (Panayiota) Kuvetakis is delighted to return for a second year on the SPA team, where she has married her loves of English, Theater, and Education! She is particularly excited about SPA’s dedication to the “whole” person - fostering not only critical, but creative citizens of the world. Nayia received her Bachelor’s Degree in 2014 from UC Berkeley, where she studied Comparative Literature,  Theater, and completed a thesis on feminist interpretations of ancient plays. She began her teaching career at Berkeley Playhouse, teaching drama and musical theater classes for children ages 3-17, and continued there as the Conservatory Producer for their education department. Nayia earned her teaching credential and Masters in Teaching at St. Mary’s College where she focused on multicultural drama for the English classroom. When not teaching, she is a playwright and has had several works produced in the SF Bay Area. Consequently, she spends much of her time talking about stories- from Broadway to Podcasts to Netflix! She is excited that her husband, Adam Niemann, has joined the Theater Department at SPA as a voice and movement teacher this year! Ms. Kuvetakis is full blown Greek, has competed nationally in Greek Folk Dancing competitions, and loves her huge family.
