5 Things Families Should Know About SPA

1. Our mission is to provide a distinguished, pre-professional experience in performing arts within a college and career preparatory setting. We believe in fostering a culture of excellence with the core values of rigor, relevance, resilience and relationships.
2. We go beyond performing arts and dance by prioritizing success in traditional academics, giving students a well-rounded experience that prepares them for the future.
3. At a school with 400 students, teachers build strong professional relationships with students. They also meet with one teacher for advisory every day- and their advisor checks in on them to ensure they are on track.
4. At SPA, students participate in at least one (6th grade) or two (all other grades) arts classes within their schedule. This can be the equivalent of 1.5 hours of specific arts courses within their school day! Additionally, academic teachers refer to and integrate the arts as they can within their studies.
5. SPA students are immersed in project-based learning using the Summit Personal Learning Platform (PLP). CocoSPA is heavily invested in growing students as artists, scholars, and readers--so they can succeed in any post-secondary experience they choose!
