FAQs for Commencement Ceremonies

  • Can I come early?

    • We ask that families arrive no more than 15 minutes before the start of their ceremony. As we have 6 ceremonies taking place, we need to make sure that previous families can safely exit before new families arrive.

  • Can I decorate cars/spaces?

    • We are very excited to see decorated cars - last year there were window and car decorations that made the entire event lively and fun!

    • As we will have multiple ceremonies, families will not be able to decorate individual spaces before the ceremonies.

  • Can people walk on versus drive in?

    • No. In order to create the safest atmosphere possible for all families, we ask that all families/pods that attend come in a vehicle. If this is an issue, please contact Lisa Kingsburyat lisa.kingsbury@cocospa.org.

  • Can we use our parking space for seating instead of parking?

    • Each family will be assigned two parking spaces and one seating space.

    • Once parked, families may take folding chairs and occupy the space in between their two  assigned parking spaces.

      • C = car

      • X = buffer space between families

      • Green shaded space = seating space

    • The ceremony will also be streamed (and recorded) for extended family and friends to view from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

  • Can my friends from other grades attend?

    • Attendance must be limited to school staff, graduates, household members, and family members. Attendees must abide by travel limitations as indicated within the current CDPH Travel Advisory.

  • Can I bring food/drink?

    • As consuming food or drink involves removing your mask, we ask that any consumption of those items happens inside your vehicles.

  • Am I allowed to take pictures with staff or friends?

    • Remember that physically hugging and handshaking between non-household members violates the social distancing guidelines. And, once the ceremony has completed, all cars will be asked to leave the parking lot in an orderly fashion.
